Impington Village College MAC intends to put on a Control line ‘FLY IN’ on Sunday 18th. May 2025 at our Girton flying site. Start time is 9.30am and lasts until 6.00pm, weather permitting.

The club is levying a £5.00 entrance fee for all flyers, to cover costs, including field hire and toilets etc. Bring your own refreshments.

This is not a replacement for the loss of the Old Warden Mayfly, but is intended to provide some multivarious flying fun across the spectrum of the Control Line discipline. In fact you MAY FLY if you want to. The idea is to have a cross section of F2b (well, Stunt anyway), Combat, grass Team Racing (probably Rat), as well as sport flying.

We hope to have 4 circles of various sizes including a 22 Metre diameter circle for a low key F2b competition if anyone is interested. Clubman Stunt will be run if sufficient entrants.

Low key F2b means – only centre spots marked, bring your own judge, organise yourselves. Grass will not be especially cut.

As CD, I will provide score sheets, a paper score board and a calculator.

We want to keep rules to a minimum without compromising safety, but there have to be some:-

BMFA insurance is essential and must be shown before flying.
CD is in overall charge of safety and has the final word. Instructions from CD must be followed.
IC is allowed but Silencers are required on engines above 3.5cc.
Car parking is allowed on the field but is restricted to the south west end of the field (entrance end).
Please Leave a 3 metre wide border around the field edge for dog walkers etc.
Do not confront or argue with other field users and report any incidents to the CD.
All lines are to be pull tested on the model before flying. If lines removed and reattached, you must re test.
Help with marshalling and clearing up at the end would be appreciated.
Have fun.
