Welcome to our club – “Friendship, Flying and Fun”
Impington Village College Model Aeroplane Club was formed just after WW2 in May 1946 by the then art master, the late Ray Malmström. We have enjoyed an uninterrupted presence at the college for all this time. For more on the amazing Ray Malmstrom see our history page.
We meet every week at the college, just North of Cambridge. In summer flying takes place on Friday evenings on the sports field starting at 6pm, and in winter indoor flying takes place on Saturday afternoons in the Sports Hall. Check the events calendar for full details.
Outdoors (all year round) we fly electric and i/c powered radio and control line models when the weather is fine
We fly almost every type of model aircraft – built from plans, kits, ready made and our own designs. Indoors we fly rubber powered models and radio control. Outdoors we fly free flight rubber powered models and gliders, radio and control line.
We welcome all modellers no matter what they build or fly. Come along sometime and see for yourself! If you want any more information look at our Newsletters or videos on YouTube (search for IVCMAC or click here) or to join the club, please contact us.
We are probably one of the very few model clubs that cater for almost everything ranging from indoor rubber scale models to indoor mini quads and outdoor FPV quadcopters. We also fly outdoor free flight, RC fixed wing, sailplanes, FPV and control line where we host an annual competition. Come along and see us!!
We even fly floatplanes on a local lake – often with some unintended splashing!
