12/10 – New guidance for indoor RC flying in the sports hall

By | October 12, 2023

The committee has been very pleased to see a considerable number of indoor RC flyers at the first few sessions this autumn.  Whilst this is great to see, it has led to a few mid-air collisions which have resulted in smaller fragile models being badly damaged.

Whilst not wanting to make rules for the sake of it, we feel that we need to create a safer environment for the fragile models.  To that end we are going to implement three 20 minute slots per hour for the different types of flying from this coming Saturday.  The new guidelines will now replace the old guidelines on the website.

This will be a trial for a few sessions and, as always, comments from indoor RC flyers will be welcome and changes can be made if required.  The committee acts on behalf of the members, so have your say after we have tried the new guidelines for a while.
