The following e-mail was sent to all members today
I visited on Thursday afternoon and spoke to the archaeologist doing the survey. The key points to take away are in the video link and listed below.
-
The dig will be finished tomorrow and all the trenches will be backfilled next week.
-
The actual pitch construction does not start for 7 weeks.
-
We should be OK for flying much as we do now till the end of this summer including the Birthday Bash fly in BBQ on Sunday 26th July.
-
This Friday 17th will mildly inconvenience RC flyers who can either pit their landing skills against the trenches or fly round the corner with the drone flyers who can take off and fly up to the far end.
-
CL flyers can remove a section of the Heras fencing to access the field (it’s not bolted together).
-
The long term future for next summer will be decided when we see the final scope of the pitch and this gives us plenty of time to consider options and discuss with members.
-
If you need to access the field by car and the gate is locked, the code is 8104, but lock the padlock back to the open gate so it doesn’t get lost.
So come along as normal this Friday!!
